Stauffenberg Dry Gin

Stauffenberg Dry Gin
Year started: 2013
Alcohol (abv) 47% vol
The first impression of this gin is in its bewildering aroma: it’s fruity. Orange, lemon, and ginger take the stage by storm. But then a chorus of unexpected characters – clove and cardamom – take the spotlight accompanied by the gentle floral notes of lavender and lemon balm. The spicy aspects of juniper lurk in the wings, of course, but that is to be expected. It’s gin, after all. But the long-lasting reverberation is clearly that of a citrus bang and lavender undertones, all-too-complex to properly put into words. Suffice to say, it’s 1913 and you’re seeing Stravinsky’s ‘Rite of Spring’ for the first time.

Distilled and bottled in Swabia
